Get Your Base Right

Dewy, flawless and natural looking skin is what I am all about! I love my skin to have quite a full coverage most days but always need my skin to be glowing and dewy.  I prefer the glowing look because I find matte foundations shine a spotlight on all the dry areas of my skin. These foundations are my ultimate crew, they each bring forth their own their own qualities, however hey do achieve the two main criteria in what I look for in a top base!

Nars Sheer Glow
Well this foundation is a beauty! It is quite a runny consistency which I like as it is easily worked into the skin to create a natural yet flawless effect. As the name suggests the overall look has a beautiful glow while it also does a good job at covering my imperfections. Sheer Glow feels extremely lightweight and comfortable on the skin, therefore it is a winner in the warmer months (although I tend to wear it all year round).

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream
I do not think I could be more in love with a BB cream! This is a BB cream which could pretty much pass as a foundation due to the high amount of coverage it offers. This one definitely ticks my boxes in the department of coverage and dewiness. The consistency is quite thick which I find best to apply with my fingers (a great slap on and go type). This one also features an SPF of 35, how amazing is that! The overall result is medium coverage with a lovely glow. A great one to wear when you are in a 'no make up' type of mood.

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid
This foundations holds a dear spot in my heart, it was my first MAC product to be purchased, in fact it was my first proper foundation to not be passed on as a hand me down from one of my aunties. I felt like such a lady when I purchased my first bottle at the dear age of 15, back then MAC was what Chanel is to me now, oh so luxurious! Anyway onto the foundation! This is a great one if you are looking for a full coverage, it will cover most imperfections on my face and make me feel instantly human if I am having a bad skin day. The only issue for me is that it is a matte finish, however a bit of highlighting primer from Nars and it is beautiful and glowing.

Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish Powder Foundation & Sheer Genius Liquid Foundation
These two are a power combo! The Sheer Genius is a beautiful foundation on its own, it is lightweight and quite runny in consistency, making it a beautiful foundation to wear daily. The overall look to this foundation is a medium coverage with a lovely glow to the skin. This is a foundation which will forever have a place in my make up collection! A pricey one, but so worth the splurge! Now why the powder? Well sadly Napoleon Perdis do not quite get my shade right so I need the powder to get that perfect match! the powder is a great addition to the liquid though as I find it helps the liquid to hold ALL day! it works better than any primer! It also provides additional coverage to my face being that it is a foundation itself. I tend to just powder my forehead, nose and chin area as the rest gets attention later with contour, blush and all that jazz.

M.A.C Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation & Mineralize Skinfinish
Another genius combo! Firstly Studio Sculpt on its own is hands down an amazing foundation! It feels so comfortable on the skin, I can barely feel it, yet it has such a perfect amount of coverage for me, not too full to look like you have foundation on, yet enough coverage to cover everything I want it too! I have also found it to be the most dewy foundation I have tried from MAC, which believe me it is hard to find a dewy foundation from those guys, they seem to be mostly matte, that being said I haven't tried Face and Body yet! The Mineralize Skinfinish simply polishes the look, it holds everything in place and I feel it provides a nearly airbrushed effect to the skin! Perfecto combo!
